We are delighted to announce that we are able to continue our work with a small group young of people who have experienced mental distress and who will be supported by NStep. The proposed project is for a series for 6 wellbeing walks through a park, garden, growing space, heritage site or an area of a history rooted in a particular industry or craft. Each will be planned by the Project Coordinator and will incorporate a creative activity connecting walkers with the history/ landscape of the site. The project is called Branching Out - Exploring Parks and Gardens - Mindfulness, Walking, Wellbeing Project and has been funded by Northamptonshire Community Foundation from the Margaret Giffen Community Fund.
In 1996 Back To Books was formed as a Reading Group and commissioned artist Carole Miles and author Kathy Page to create a series of stories and prints, which toured as The Sensuous Page. 2008 saw the reincarnation of Back to Books; today the members are drawn together by a passion for reading, writing and making. The group raises funds on a project by project basis and have new projects in the pipeline.

A Trip to Mini Meadows!
During the Easter holidays we joined The Green Patch outing to Mini Meadows Farm in Naseby where we had a wonderful time in spite of the grey weather! We were able to feed and pet the animals, play in the fresh air, imagine we we at the beach in the sandpit and picnic inside a yurt. We made new friends and had a wonderful time! Thank you to Sue at the Green Patch for organising such an exciting day!

A Glimpse of August
We have had the joy of watching one of the chickens who had become broody, sit on 12 assorted eggs and successfully hatch 7 new chicks! It has been wonderful to see how protective she is, scooting all the chicks under her if anything alarming approaches, and to hear the cheep and cluck to each other.

we found newts in the pond
(they are now back in their home)
the Zinnias
and sunflowers
have been glorious!
These tomatoes were on their way to becoming soup
to go with these delicious cheese and herb scones.
The blackberries have been
plump and delicious
especially when combined with
the Green Patch apples
bubbling in a pan and on their way to
becoming blackberry and apple crumble.
Everyone had a crumble to take home - yum!

Picture This!
In preparation for Groundwork Northants 10th birthday
we were busy making collages and pictures
Two of our lovely project volunteers!

at the end of the new orchard
It was gloriously sunny and not at all difficult
to embrace the seaside theme!
