It's All About the Grout!

In a shady corner outside Caroles' Studio (shed) there have been signs of tea drinking, butterfly watching and grouting!

This is the part we look forward to but in spite of gloves there is a certain artist who always gets plenty on herself and her clothes, hence the attractive overall!

Starting to clean away the excess grout

to gently reveal the image beneath

We thought it was nice to include parts of the surroundings to show scale and where most of the work has taken place. What photographs can't really capture is the play of light on the tiles, some of which have a lustre which changes colour as you move round.

So here are Puddle Jumping

and Signal Box completed!

Many thanks to Andrew Rushton for the photographs and to Lucy Anderson so being such a star.
11 panels done one to go!

The Young Visitors!

Signal Box - this panel had been started much earlier in the project but Carole had been saving the sky for these young visitors, who arrived with their father on a day not unlike the one in the photo above.

Lois aged 6

and Riley aged 2

After a while Riley became more intrigued with
the antics of Charlie Whippet,

but Lois remained fully engrossed

and didn't really want to go home!

We think they made a brilliant job of the sky
(with a little help on the clouds from Carole!)

Stevie Way Panel continued in the Studio

Here's a progress report on one of the panels begun at Stephenson Way and continued in Carole's studio.

Shusha Walmsley came to help

and found the experience

relaxing and engrossing!

The panel also took a trip to Alstonefield were Carole was involved in a walking residential.

The completed panel then returned to her studio and is now ready to grout.

Mosaic Update

Work delayed by snow and lack of power, heat and light in Carole's studio - the green shed at the bottom of her garden!
