Meeting and Making 2

Artist Phiona Richards has a keen eye for unusual origami makes and a keen interest in birds, she thought that it would be a good idea to see if our lovely, local View From Here community would like to take part in "Fold the Flock - The Passenger Pidgeon Origami Project"

2014 marks the centennial anniversary of the extinction of the Passenger Pigeon. To help remember the Passenger Pigeon, Fold The Flock are folding origami pigeons to recreate the great flocks of 100 years ago. Fold the Flock is an initiative of The Lost Bird Project

Phiona downloaded and printed the bird template
and we began to build our own flock

We invited makers to choose a
spot to photograph their bird.

Phiona thought they might like to
visit the Green Patch chickens!

We would love members of the community in Margaret Rd, Cora Rd, Doris Rd, Edith Rd, Judith Rd, Dorothy Rd, Jean Rd, Stamford Rd, Gorse Rd, Lime Rd, Ivy Rd, Centre Parade, Heather Rd, Aster Rd, Almond Rd, Dahlia Rd, Weekly Glebe Rd to fold a bird and join the flock. The template can be downloaded here but we also have some to share so why not come down to The Green Patch this Thursday afternoon between 2.00pm and 3.00pm for some crafty folding and a cuppa!
