World Book Night

We are always looking for ways to add elements to our projects and our Project Coordinator Carole Miles applied to become an World Book Night 2015 institutional volunteer and we gave out books in our project postcode area in the Avondale Grange Ward as part of our The View From Here project. We also gave books in other parts on other days to members of Back To Books.

We gave out

Assassin's Apprentice

Book Title: Spring Tide

All the books were wrapped in our specially created book 

wraps printed as part of our View From Here project 

and the books given out in out postcode area also 

contained a leaflet about the project. 

We had a fabulous week of book giving as you can 

see from all the smiling faces in our Flickr set here!

Rob Walker gave out books at KBA

and we gave out books at The Green Patch

and at the Resource Centre in Grange Square.

It sees passionate volunteers give out hundreds of thousands of books in their communities to share their love of reading with people who don’t read regularly or own books. World Book Night is run by The Reading Agency, a national charity that inspires people to become confident and enthusiastic readers to help give them an equal chance in life.

Directions to the meeting point - Approaching from the A14 -Turn off at Junction 2 and head north on the A508 towards Market Harborough, shortly after the entrance to Kelmarsh Hall the road descends and reaches a left hand bend, take the turning right on the apex of thisbend signposted "Arthingworth 1 1/2"

Carry on along this road until you reach the first farm on your left alongside the bridge over the road. Immediately after the bridge turn left onto the Car Park/Picnic area.

For those approaching from the north on the A508 the Arthingworth turn is at the end of the long straight after you have passed the left and right lay-by's.
