The View From Here - May 2015

Lucy introduced us to baby Woody!

We all had the chance to care for some lambs.

We were busy baking.

In the  raised beds leafy greens were springing up.

new potatoes were growing quietly under ground.

We can't wait to eat them!

The Sunflowers were planted out.

and Spring flowers put on a great show

April Blooms - Out and About on the Grange

There have been some gorgeous blooms

in gardens and pathways in
our postcode area this April.

Artist Phiona Richards paid another
Threads and Chatter visit to KBA

creating books from recycled papers

and demonstrating how to make an origami butterfly

you can see a slightly longer clip here

Carole Miles joined the gang at The Resource Centre

for some knitting and nattering - rumour has it Carole
was cutting out fabric to up-cycle at The Green Patch
Open day whilst there

she managed to snap a rare red lurex hedgehog.

Meanwhile down at The Green Patch

baking was taking place

the children made Rhubarb crumble - yum!

They have also been adding to
their View From Here books.

We can't believe just how fast the year is rushing past.

For more of the flavour of April out in our postcode area

November Photography Walk

Our November Photography explored the Brampton Valley Way between Hanging Houghton and Creaton. Crisp day, wonderful light, rain left muddy puddle along the track, still plenty of Sloes on the top branches in the hedgerows. The Photo Set for the walk can be found by following this link

Scoping the Route & Meeting the Tellers of Tall Tales

To get On the Right Track off to a flying start Carole Miles and Andrew Rushton cycled from Brampton Halt to Market Harborough and back along the Brampton Valley Way in order to scope out the route and plan future events.
Healthy lunch (just ignore the pork pies!)
The bench which gave us the idea to include Storytellers in this project.
dedicated to Amit Bhattacharya Story Teller and Healer
Frisky Huskies - you never know who you might meet along the Valley way!
Not far now
A lovely park in Market Harborough ended the first part of the cycle, after a quick stop Carole & Andrew headed back the way they came, the total route is about 28 miles.
Carole met Word in Edgeways Storytellers Philippa Tipper and Allan Davies at Brampton Halt where they met Graham Peacock,
explored the station, Signal Box and walked to the end of the first section of the Brampton Valley Way.
So here's to the start of a project full of walking, talking, cycling, healthy eating, tall tales, great books and a spot of upcycling!
