Bunting for the Green Patch Spring Fete Part 1

Sue at The Green Patch asked if we might be able to help create lots of bunting for the Green Patch Spring Fete so Carole showed us how to use glittery fabric paint, rollers, stamps and brushes to create our own lengths of fabric.

Once dry and ironed the fabric was cut into pennant shapes

ready to be sewn into lengths of bunting.

Our lovely Michelle made a beautiful crochet and appliqued line of bunting with letters spelling out The Green Patch and adorned with gardening inspired buttons. Here are Abby, Brendan and Holly proudly holding it out for us to see. Wonderful work!

The View From Here - Triumph Trees

Sometimes we all need to give ourselves a high five, a pat on the back or a Hip Hip Hooray so Carole came up with a little up-cycling project to express those good thoughts! Old Christmas cards were cut into small labels

and we used a lovely stamp set

to stamp the plain side of our labels.

We each had a ceramic milk bottle
an assortment of twigs and

an assortment of brightly coloured wools.

We made a series of finger loops around our twigs
and hung the labels from the twigs so they could
twirl and dance out words of encouragement!

A Trip to Mini Meadows!

During the Easter holidays we joined The Green Patch outing to Mini Meadows Farm in Naseby where we had a wonderful time in spite of the grey weather! We were able to feed and pet the animals, play in the fresh air, imagine we we at the beach in the sandpit and picnic inside a yurt. We made new friends and had a wonderful time! Thank you to Sue at the Green Patch for organising such an exciting day!

The View From Here - Changes at The Green Patch

It was finally time to say goodbye to
the old cabin at The green Patch

There were quite a few hectic days
with volunteers working tirelessly
to clear away the debris

leaving a space for the new cabin,

In spite of the disruption

planting was still taking place!
